Welcome, Newcomers!
Are you interested in learning how to sew? Our six-week Learn To Sew Series is the perfect introduction to the basics before moving on to our exciting weekly classes, such as Fashion Kids + Teens or Sewing Is Art. Even the youngest of creatives, aged 7 and up, can participate in the sewing shenanigans. Don’t worry; we haven’t forgotten about the grown-ups; we have many options for you as well!

Weekly Classes

Our upcoming fashionistas will have an array of sewing ideas at their fingertips, each one custom-fit to their style and level of expertise. From cute and easy shorts, shirts, and dresses to comfy rompers and pj pants, the possibilities are endless! Plus, our Sewing Is Art students can master the craft with a host of quirky projects, such as funky bags, snuggly pillows, wall hangings, and even adorable plushies.

Workshops

Calling all mini makers! Get ready to stitch up a storm with our weekend sewing workshops just for kids! Your little ones can dive into the world of sewing with our “make and take” sessions. They’ll learn new skills, let their imaginations run wild, and create something truly special. Plus, we’ve got you covered on teacher workdays with our Single Sew Day and keep the fun going all year with our Summer and Christmas camps. Don’t let your kiddos miss out on this exciting and educational adventure!

Registration

Get ready to sew up a storm because registration is always open! If there’s space, you can jump in anytime you fancy. Classes run for 60-70 minutes per week providing you with ample opportunity to unleash your creativity.
We’ll supply you with a sewing machine and tools so you can dive right in. And don’t worry if you’re new to patterns, because each student gets their own workbook to guide them through the process. Let’s get sewing!

Mrs. Jen has been teaching children of all ages and skill levels since 2009. Her approach to teaching is individualized and focuses on a building block method. She takes pride in simplifying the complexity of sewing into easy-to-understand lessons for her students. Mrs. Jen’s passion for all things sewing is infectious and she loves nothing more than sharing it with the younger generation.

Hi, I’m Jen!

Jen Taylor, Owner

I started Thimble Bee’s in 2009 to share my love and joy for sewing with the next generation. I’m so blessed to have met so many families in the Charlotte area and I’m glad you’re here. I hope you find Thimble Bee’s a comfortable place to learn, be encouraged, and grow in your skill every day.
